Awesome!

Funny how things work out! For my 100th post on our blog I have exciting news!!

Thumbtack.com, a wedding resource for brides, just named us the #1 Wedding Photographer of Norco!

They now consider us part of their “Elite” wedding vendors!

How cool is that?!?!

The Unplugged Wedding!!

There you are, exchanging rings, one of the most important steps in your life.

You look over your shoulder towards your loved ones…and they are all looking at the back of a camera or phone!

What happened to the attention to you?

An article from “Offbeat Bride” challenges guests to give a little more attention to the couple on their special day instead of their electronic devices.

Take a read here!

Sunday Smile

I didn’t take these images, but I thought they might make you smile!

I Love Our Back Yard!!

We really have a beautiful back yard. The crazy weather has just put everything in bloom!
Here are a couple of photos from my iPhone.

Hike in California Citrus State Park

Jimmy and I took advantage of the beautiful day today and took a hike at the California Citrus State Park in Riverside.

It was great to be out in the sun and having some fun.

I did take my camera and set it so each time I took a photo it took an overexposed image, an underexposed image and a normal image.

Once we got home I combined the images to make some HDR photos.

This is still in my experimental stage, but I think they came out pretty well.

Sunrise, Sunset

Martin Sojka is one of the most talented landscape photographers I have ever seen!! I think you’ll agree!!

Consultations

Stop by the office some time! Or you’ll never know what you’ve been missing!

Of course, call me first, so I can make sure I have goodies on hand!!

Baby Grace

Sunday we had the privilege of attending or friend’s baby’s first birthday.

I had my camera with me so we went out for an impromptu baby shoot! We had a lot of fun.

Most of the time Grace isn’t looking at me because grandpa is behind me making faces!

If any friends or family would like to order prints, I have a new deal for cheaper prints through Pictage. You can view them here.

Review of “Walk Through a Wedding” Workshop

There are plenty of photography workshops out there! But there is also a huge air of mistrust among photographers due to reports of  workshops that are spent doing the photographer’s errands to workshops that cost more than an import car! This falls into neither of those.

I had the chance last week to attend the “Walk Through a Wedding” Workshop given by Justin and Mary Marantz.

I have had a chance to get to know Justin & Mary through our work with Pictage and annual PartnerCon sponsored by Pictage. I know from my time with them that they are two of the most humble and personable photographers a person could know.

During the preparation of their workshop, I volunteered to “intern” and assist during the workshop. Well, being the top notch assistant that she is, Julia was completely ready for the entire day and didn’t need much of my assistance. I was able to join the group and take in some of the information.

One thing I was able to do was provide a bride and groom. The day before the workshop the couple modeling as bride and groom had to cancel. Fortunately I was able to contact one of my favorite couples, Angela and Joshua. They’ll practically kill themselves for a good photo. The proof is here…http://tinyurl.com/3b625sj

Justin and Mary run an incredible wedding photography business. If anyone would have reason to boast about themselves or their business, they do.  So, I knew going in that I was going to be learning from top notch photographers!

Since I was planning on working for the day I didn’t bring my equipment. But I always carry my trusty iPhone!

The consistent beauty of J and M’s images are astounding! With sections on shooting classic portraits, to lighting a church with one, yes one light, to an amazing reception, I promise you’ll never be bored! You’ll be caught up in the whirlwind of information, settings and posing.

If anyone is qualified to have a legitimate workshop where you will actually learn what you need to learn at a prices that is less than a new lens, you don’t want to miss it!

So, it turns out I learn a TON, have an awesome day and if I can get theses with my phone…this truly is a workshop you don’t want to miss!!

Shoes

I didn’t have my regular equipment at the “Walkthrough” last week but I did have my trusty iPhone!

A little adjustment here and there and…I kind of like it!

“Walk Through a Wedding” Workshop

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the “Walk Through a Wedding” Workshop, by Justin & Mary Marantz. I was asked to intern for the workshop, but once I got there, they didn’t need me and I was able to enjoy the workshop.

Unfortunately, because I was planning on being an intern, I didn’t bring any of my gear! All I had was my iPhone. I’ll post those behind the scenes shots tomorrow.

I learned a TON, had an amazing day with some awesome photographers and got to spend time with one of my favorite couples, Angela & Josh. I shot their wedding in 2009.

It’s amazing to see what other photographers do with a couple you’ve already shot!

Here is a sneak peek of a few of the images that Justin & Mary captured during the day.

I love, during my editing of a wedding, when I find a beautiful gem.
