Oak Glen Day Trip

Yesterday we took an awesome day trip to Oak Glen, California, in the San Bernardino foothills. It was a gorgeous drive and an incredible day!

We tasted all kinds of apples, jams, jellies, caramels, chocolates and even fresh mini donuts! We snuck out of a horribly boring apple packing house tour! We toured an 1800′s schoolhouse. And we went through more through more gift shops than I can even remember!

I did take my camera and of course ALWAYS have my iPhone! I did some experimental photography and thought some of it came out quite well!

We ended the night by stopping in Redlands at Gourmet Pizza Shoppe and had some of the most amazing pizza I have ever had! They have literally hundreds of combinations of pizza. They even have a pizza with peanut butter. I was going to try it…but there were a few other ingredients I wasn’t too sure about… I ended up with a seafood pizza that was beyond delicious!

Today was shopping for our early Thanksgiving next weekend. Every year, everyone spends Thanksgiving with their families, whether they like it or not! We decided that this year we’d have an early Thanksgiving with our “chosen” family, the people we love to spend our time with!

Six Year Anniversary

Today I have been married to my best friend for six years!

This is my favorite image from our wedding.

We spent the day in Oak Glen, CA at apple orchards and small  mom & pop shops and of course the highlight were the fresh mini-donuts in chocolate!

We bought fresh apple crumb pie, coffee caramel syrup and of course some VERY fresh apples!

I will post some of my photos tomorrow. For now…I’m exhausted!!

Rest in Peace Time Capsule

Our Apple Time Capsule has passed on!

Good news, there is a recall for the issue.

Bad news, all of our music and digital copies of our movies are on that drive! AND it is the hub that holds our whole network together, including our internet. Thank god for my iPhone!

Worries, although they will transfer your files to your new piece of hardware, we hope it’s all there.

Apple has been EXTREMELY wonderful to us.

I hope we can count on them again!!

Once this issue is fixed we will be able to resume our regular postings! Thank you so much for your time and patience!

Wedding Wednesday

I apologize for the late posts. Our internet has been up and down for the last couple days.

So I am compiling our Things Tuesday and our Wedding Wednesdays into a single post.

One of the things I learned from some incredible people, was the concept of “Dream Boards”

A “Dream Board” is an excellent thing to help you prepare for your wedding or any other dreams you may have.

I use a metal board from Ikea with magnets to hold up clippings from magazines or other things that I dream about.

You can post clippings of dresses you like, flower arrangements, centerpieces, anything you want for your wedding. You may not get all of the things you post for your wedding but you can get an idea of how you want things to look. It will give you a visual of how things will come together.

I also use a board for inspiration. I post images from photographers that keep my creativity flowing.

I just bought 2 new boards and I’ll share more ideas as my boards fill up!

While visiting my sister back east I fell in love with a new magazine, Southern Weddings.

They have some of the most beautiful images, ideas and products. Even though they are only on their third issue I can guarantee this magazine is going to make it big!

Photo Monday

I haven’t been neglecting you! I’ve had bronchitis for the 3rd time this year! IT’S BEEN FABULOUS!

We had a wonderful time over the weekend celebrating Halloween with some of our closest friends!

If you follow me on Facebook you know I’ve become addicted to BBC America. So this year I went to our Halloween party as Doctor Who.

Not too bad for a 905 year old Time Lord!

And yes, I know, I’m a huge DORK!!

Gorgeous Atlanta Wedding Wednesday

Our very good friend Shari Zellers married on 10/3 and we had the pleasure of attending this incredible event.

The details were just above and beyond! It was like being in a David Tutera show!

I am planning on editing a few a few of these images this week. But in the meantime, this photo, of the cake, took no editing, no color correction, nothing! Straight out of the camera! Gorgeous!!

Shari had some of my most favorite photographers at her wedding! The main photographers, two of the most awesome photographers in the world, Chris Williams and Will Jacks did an AWESOME job that day! They are amazing! If you know anyone in Louisiana or Mississippi needing wedding photography, give these guys a call! You wont regret it!

Once I edit a few of the images I took, I’ll post them. I’ll try to get some of the “official” images to share with you!

Finally Home!

We are finally home from our around the country tour. We hit Atlanta for a friend’s wedding then St. Louis to visit our nephews. Tomorrow I’ll post some photos from our trip!

Back to Schedule

On Mondays I will be posting a photo. It will be a photo from a wedding or a recent shoot, a series called “Strange Things in My Town” or other random photos that strike my fancy!

Tuesday -Quote of the day

Quote of the day will be something inspiring or something fun. I may choose a quote from an inspiring artist or a quote from a friend. Hopefully Tuesdays will be inspiring or something to make you’ll laugh.

Wednesday – Wedding Wednesday

Wedding Wednesday will include wedding photos, wedding advice, ideas on how to create a beautiful wedding without breaking the bank!

Thursday – Blog Thursday

On Thursdays I’ll be sharing links to some of my favorite photographers, wedding planners and other wedding related vendors or businesses.

Friday – Follow Friday

On Follow Friday I’ll be following the Twitter trend of sharing the Twitter names of some of the important people that I follow. Hopefully you’ll find something to inspire you.

I’ll probably take weekends off but if you follow me on Twitter @paulmanke I’ll usually post things that are fun or interesting.
